Have You Watched/ Planned to Watch Them Yet?: [21st July – 25th Sept 2013]

Disclaimer: All posts are just containing my OPINION. I don’t mean to offend. I mean to give only my honest feedback.

Note: The comments below will be my zeroth impression (please click the links for more on the drama), though it may be influenced by what I had heard about the drama/film. I’m more for shows that experiment( find something new in the old) or have a different script. Also, as this is more of a recommended list, I apologise if I do offend because of what I choose.

I didn’t know I had left more than 2 months worth of news to cover. Sorry for the overload!

 Movie Picks

1. We’ve had some dramas (The Woman Who Still Wants To Marry, I Need Romance 1+2) doing the ‘Sex and The City’ premise and now, Eom Jeong Hwa (the ‘Lee Shin Yeong’ or the ‘Seon Woo In Yeong’), Jo Min Su(divorcee) and Mun So Ri(married) head the same-theme film, Laws of Attraction. Looking at the cast, it’s going to be an older and bolder perspective from these three girlfriends. I hope the show doesn’t stinge on the crazy and the honest dialogues. And those small but squeal-worthy moments too! It will be so much fun! 😛 *Wet blanket alert!* Although on the downside, I’m a little worried for the film version if it doesn’t give the same or higher entertainment value (and maybe lessons on love, seeing as there’s a matured cast here) as those on the small screen due to the limited time frame. I know, I had to ruin things right? Heh.eom, jo, mun Ryu Seung Ryong's Killer charisma:P

Have You Watched Them Yet?: 7th March – 21 May 2013 [updated 4/8/13]

So yes, this is the drama/film version of ‘Have You Listened To Them Yet’, which I have been doing for songs and covers from March-June. I figured that it wasn’t very appropriate to use the original titles, since these aren’t very recent updates.

Note: I haven’t watched the films and shows below so the comments will be my zeroth(because there’s a first?..and before that is zero..so..ehehe :P) impression. More information is a click away:)

Movie Picks

1.High Heels: The film sounds like it’s going all out with the comedy, with Cha Seung Won leading as a cop, Ji Wook, from the ‘Violent Crimes’ department who wants to be female. That’s so extreme O.O I mean, I totally love Cha for his masculine, charismatic image and imagining him as someone who wants to change his gender and do girly stuff (like wear heels for instance, or even shopping) is just mind-blowing. I am very curious as to whether another actress will play after-operation-Cha, or will Cha continue playing the character, just in female-wear and wigs?

Also, transgender is no small matter in Korea, especially for men. Perhaps the plot will inject some seriousness with regards to how the family takes it…unless the cop doesn’t have a family… I’ve been thinking too about whether Cha Seung Won’s decision to change gender is related to the character’s occupation and the cases he handled and handles. Esom will play the role as a bff(I suppose), Jang Mi, in helping the man with his wish, while Oh Jung Sae acts as Cha Seung Won’s rival, Heo Geon. Casts include Go Kyung Pyo and special appearances by Oh Ji Ho, Ahn Kil Kang and Lee Eon Jeong

Another show that’s along the same lines as High Heels is Kim Myung Min‘s Kang Ho’s Childbirth Story. Why do the two guys have to be a ‘Violent Crimes’ cop?! Or why don’t the two films merge!

Drama/Film News [5th – 31st Jan 2013]

And here it is!

It has been a long while since I updated you guys on the happenings of the drama/film world. I have been reading the updates on Dramabeans but none of the upcoming projects have hit me and got me interested real bad, like as though I will die from curiosity if the film/drama isn’t set to air. I mean, there were some that sounded okay but then when I think about it again, wasn’t much. More of the drama details are in the db link.

(Drama) Ad Genius Lee Tae Baek: I might try it out for Jin Goo. I have been dying to see him in a drama..because I don’t know this actor. I know. Call me strange. The plot sounds good-natured and all. Maybe I will see it, maybe I won’t. Who knows? Maybe it actually is a good show. Like how I had zero expectations for Dr. Champ. Cast: Jin Goo, Park Ha Sun, Jo Hyun Jae and Han Chae Young.

(Drama) Nine: One of those shows that confuses me but might have something in there. It’s got time-travelling and mystery going on. Just like the kind of feeling Incarnation of Money gives me. Cast: Lee Jin Wook, Jo Yoon Hee, Jeon No Min and Park Hyun Shik.

Ninehey there hottie

(Film) Battle of Yeonpyeong is about a real border attack from North Korea to South that happened in 2002. The film can be promising if done right. For now, the film has Jung Seok Won leading as commander Yoon Young Ha, a real military officer and a hero.

Drama/Film News [7th Oct – 1st Nov 2012]

This is going to be hard..I didn’t realise it had been this long. ehehe. Do note, though, that I’m picking based on whether I like what I’m reading about the shows.

If anyone wants a point of view on recent shows, DB has podcasts every now and then. Ep 14 part 2 link is here. Seoulbeats occasionally have such posts too.

New Films

1. Jackal is Coming stars Song Ji Hyo and JYJ’s JaeJoong and it looks like it’s going to be cracktastic. Something tells me Jaejoong will be rocking it out in his asking-for-a-punch idol character. It may be his 4d personality that is giving me this positive outlook. Lol. Song Ji Hyo’s character reminds me of her role in RM. Han Sang Jin, Oh Dal Soo and Kim Sung Ryung co-stars as a former FBI agent, detective and the top star’s sponsor respectively. Why can’t this be a drama?!

Drama/Film News [30th Sept 2012]

Omg..I didn’t know I missed out on so much drama news. I really thought I just missed last week’s update. I’m really sorry!

New Films

1. Yoon Kye Sang has a new like-a-drama comedy film called Acting Lessons. The plot’s really strange. Yoon Kye Sang’s character has never made it out of extra-sphere as an actor. His father’s debt becomes a problem for the family when dad goes into a coma. With the liability(both the debt and lesser income) in mind, he takes on a job where he pretends to be a wealthy family’s long-lost disabled son. I’m curious as to how the writer/director would fit such a storyline into a few hours. But…how is this about acting? Well, I guess acting requires you to act your heart out. I…I’m clearly confused..
