Have You Listened To Them Yet?: [25th Aug – 13th Sept 2014]

It’s been a sad week as shocking news of Ladies’ Code’s tragic accident overcomes Korea’s entertainment industry. Although I wasn’t a fan of LC, I’ve seen Ri Se in Running Man and grew fond of her. Sigh. RIP EunB(i) and Rise. And to the remaining members Ashley, So Jeong and Zuny, stay strong!

As a tribute to the girls, ‘I’m Fine Thank You’ rose to the top of various charts (see here), mnet and KBS both broadcasted videos in memory of EunB(i) and Rise.

My belated condolences to EunB(i) and Ri Se.

Disclaimer: All posts are just containing my OPINION. I don’t mean to offend. I mean to give only my honest feedback. Also, I do not listen to every song, although I try to. (I might have missed them or the site may not have posted on it. The ‘Discovered’ section exists for this reason.)

By the way, this link here is for those who wish to look at (almost) every song that came out in each week. Since I don’t like EVERY song that comes out, I thought the Soompi tag should reflect a better picture of the releases. 😀 Two other links here may help too: LINK #1 , LINK #2

Songs I Like and Would Like to Recommend

One would have to be living under a real rock to not know EXID (or member Ha Ni) and their hit ‘Up And Down’. The Hip-Hop Dance track has a ‘strong saxophone melody and catchy hook’ and was already big on variety shows before this review (obviously..). (SBS Running Man and KBS 2D1N to name a few.) The part played most on such shows was the hook. But the 2-part chorus sung by Hye Rin and Sol Ji? Awesome! Click title to read more comfortably or click to continue

Songs I Like and Would Like to Recommend

Parc Jae Jeong (or Park Jae Jeong) hits all the right notes on his <First Step>. The dramatic Soul Jazz ‘Stalker’ (At First Sight, The Platonix Remix) is a super sick rendition of the (livelier Jazzier) original piece that Parc (or Park) sang for Superstar K5. What’s even more genius, is the twisted perspective of the original title and its creepy monochrome MV. (I freaked out when I saw him chopping something…only it turned out to be a carrot he was chopping. LOL. In short, there’s nothing to be scared of. Except that tattoo girl who shocks rather than frightens.) Click title to read more comfortably or click to continue

Recommended (The section I get ruthless)

1. I didn’t expect to find Behind The Scenes Bang Tan Sonyeo (BTS/Bullet Proof Boys)’s debut song ‘No More Dreams’ to be the what I would recommend first, considering I rank the songs by the date they are released on. I fell in love with the edgy hip-hop track the instant I listened to it. The instrumentals are just plain fantastic, and then coupled with the group’s rap and singing, the song is just something I won’t hesitate to replay frequently for the time being. Speaking of instrumentals, the start of ‘No More Dreams’ sounded so innocent. Ha! The group seems to have more rappers than singers, with V and Jeong Kook visibly doing more of the singing. I like the way Rap Monster…err..raps. His gruff voice also adds to the roughness of the song.

Sorry for the wait!

Celebrity-related

1. Brian Joo and Heather Park (Kor-Amer singer) are going to be part of a ‘ US-produced Broadway-style musical, Loving the Silent Tears, to be held on October 27 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles‘. With co-stars as big as Grammy, Tony, Emmy and Oscar winners, this could go potentially well for Brian and Heather. Congrats to the both of them!
