K-Songs So Far: [16th – 31st Oct 2013]

Disclaimer: All posts are just containing my OPINION. I don’t mean to offend. I mean to give only my honest feedback. Also, I do not listen to every song, although I try to. (I might have missed them or the site may not have posted on it. The ‘Discovered’ section exists for this reason.)

By the way, this link here is for those who wish to look at (almost) every song that came out in each week. Since I don’t like EVERY song that comes out, I thought the Soompi tag should reflect a better picture of the releases. 😀 Another link here may help too: LINK

I had a pretty hard time for this post, thinking about where I should put the songs, particularly ballads. I personally think ballads are good but when there are too many of the same kind, I get really biased. D:

1.Shin Seung Hun‘s 90’s soothing, high-pitched vocals and his fall album go very well together such that the ballads (most of the tracks are) don’t sound too stale next to each other. Strangely enough, all of the ballads are my favourites of the album – ‘I’ve Changed A Lot (feat Choiza)‘ , ‘Sorry’ (The piano instrumental is darkly charming and hypnotising.), ‘You’, ‘My Melody’, ‘Butterfly Effect’, ‘Love Fool’ , ‘Turn On The Radio’. . I did like ‘I Hope (feat Ra.D)’ too, which is a remix of the original (?I remember hearing this song before…). Ra.D’s unique singing complimented the veteran singer and the way the song was remixed.

1.IU returns with her third album. On the whole, there were some songs I liked and some I wasn’t too fond of. Nonetheless, a decent comeback. Title song, ‘Red Shoes’ wasn’t my cup of tea. ‘Love of B’ was better but still not really something I’m looking for. ‘Modern Times’ was a little bit too immature for me. ‘Obliviate’ was not too bad. ‘Havanah’ too but it’s a bit too cute and falsetto-ish(I’m picky about its use) for me. ‘Wait’ is a song in which IU only starts singing around the 1:41 mark. The instrumentals are fantastic but I didn’t like the way she sung the song. It suits the instrumentals, yes. But I never appreciated cutesy vocals. Also, the way she always tends to sing in the falsetto range is getting boring for me. 😛My favourites are ‘Everyone Has Secrets’ (It’s got this exciting, sexy tone to the song. It’s great that Ga In sets the tone first with her husky voice that’s so suitable for such songs.),

K-Songs So Far: 16th – 30th Sept 2013

Sorry for the late update. I was busy during the weekend and the internet kept crashing so I wasn’t able to properly work on this post. D:

1. Ailee and Yiruma collaborates for ‘Higher’. I feel like I’m watching an inspiring anime with such a song as the OST. (Don’t tell me(?) it’s because of the picture… …eheh) Her explosive vocals (love her control), with the beautiful instrumental was just so good!

Once again, sorry in advance for my lack of vocabulary and if the post takes long to load. heh 😛

Unlike his previous mini-album ‘One of a Kind’, G-Dragon experiments more in his 2nd album. It got a little hard for me to be objective because I’m a G-Dragon fan. G-Dragon’s title song ‘Coup D’etat’ is a strange song for me. It’s epic and very individualistic. The funny thing is that I’m not hooked, but I love it. Looks like I’m the one getting strange here. (Hohoho.)

1. Mikey (of Double Kick)’s RnB version of Sistar’s ‘Loving You’ is my kind of song. It focuses more on the singing and, the vocals by Mikey and Olltii is awesome. It’s got this sexy but gentle and sweet(FALSETTOOOOO!…eheh) touch with the change in music style. For Sistar’s version, it would be for people who like the upbeat fun type of tracks.
