Have You Watched/ Planned to Watch Them Yet?: [Jan – March 2014]

Disclaimer: All posts are just containing my OPINION. I don’t mean to offend. I mean to give only my honest feedback.

I know I haven’t been doing any drama/film news for a while(???) now so here’s my newest picks for the first quarter of 2014. Hopefully you, the reader(s), like such a format. (Heh) >.<

What the format is: The comments for the films and dramas below will be my zeroth impression (please click the links for more on the drama). I try to not be influenced by what I had heard about the drama/film as much as possible because it could spoil the fun.  I don’t necessarily dislike the opposite but I do prefer shows that experiment (find something new in the old/ deals with different perspective) or have a new genre. Also, as this format makes such posts more towards a recommended list, I apologise if I do offend because of what I choose.

Movie Picks

If there’s anything that has been more frustrating when reading Korean entertainment news, it’s reading who A, B, C, etc are in rumors and scandalicious news(?) reports, and then forgetting who takes what role.. -__-’’ <Tabloid News> is a film that turns the whole picture around and identifies the bigger picture – is the article in question deserving of our attention, or the ones behind the article? The mystery thriller has already hooked me for the subject matter it’s taking on – other than Kim Kang Woo seeking justice for the late artiste he was managing, what exactly did the masterminds behind the article commit?? The show seems dangerous (A gangster in the mix??)! Just what kind of things did the masterminds do, and WHO THE HELL is the ‘murderer’?! Click title to read more comfortably or click to continue

Have You Watched/ Planned to Watch Them Yet?: [26th Sept – 31st Dec 2013]

Disclaimer: All posts are just containing my OPINION. I don’t mean to offend. I mean to give only my honest feedback.

I know I haven’t been doing any drama/film news for a while(???) now so here’s my newest picks for the last three months of 2013.

Movie Picks

1. When news of ‘The Way Home‘ was released, I was already sold on the premise. It’s sad that the show is based on a woman’s real life event but it also means it’s grounded in reality, which actually makes things more interesting. Click title to read more comfortably or click to continue

Have You Watched Them Yet?: 7th March – 21 May 2013 [updated 4/8/13]

So yes, this is the drama/film version of ‘Have You Listened To Them Yet’, which I have been doing for songs and covers from March-June. I figured that it wasn’t very appropriate to use the original titles, since these aren’t very recent updates.

Note: I haven’t watched the films and shows below so the comments will be my zeroth(because there’s a first?..and before that is zero..so..ehehe :P) impression. More information is a click away:)

Movie Picks

1.High Heels: The film sounds like it’s going all out with the comedy, with Cha Seung Won leading as a cop, Ji Wook, from the ‘Violent Crimes’ department who wants to be female. That’s so extreme O.O I mean, I totally love Cha for his masculine, charismatic image and imagining him as someone who wants to change his gender and do girly stuff (like wear heels for instance, or even shopping) is just mind-blowing. I am very curious as to whether another actress will play after-operation-Cha, or will Cha continue playing the character, just in female-wear and wigs?

Also, transgender is no small matter in Korea, especially for men. Perhaps the plot will inject some seriousness with regards to how the family takes it…unless the cop doesn’t have a family… I’ve been thinking too about whether Cha Seung Won’s decision to change gender is related to the character’s occupation and the cases he handled and handles. Esom will play the role as a bff(I suppose), Jang Mi, in helping the man with his wish, while Oh Jung Sae acts as Cha Seung Won’s rival, Heo Geon. Casts include Go Kyung Pyo and special appearances by Oh Ji Ho, Ahn Kil Kang and Lee Eon Jeong

Another show that’s along the same lines as High Heels is Kim Myung Min‘s Kang Ho’s Childbirth Story. Why do the two guys have to be a ‘Violent Crimes’ cop?! Or why don’t the two films merge!

Drama/Film News [5th – 31st Jan 2013]

And here it is!

It has been a long while since I updated you guys on the happenings of the drama/film world. I have been reading the updates on Dramabeans but none of the upcoming projects have hit me and got me interested real bad, like as though I will die from curiosity if the film/drama isn’t set to air. I mean, there were some that sounded okay but then when I think about it again, wasn’t much. More of the drama details are in the db link.

(Drama) Ad Genius Lee Tae Baek: I might try it out for Jin Goo. I have been dying to see him in a drama..because I don’t know this actor. I know. Call me strange. The plot sounds good-natured and all. Maybe I will see it, maybe I won’t. Who knows? Maybe it actually is a good show. Like how I had zero expectations for Dr. Champ. Cast: Jin Goo, Park Ha Sun, Jo Hyun Jae and Han Chae Young.

(Drama) Nine: One of those shows that confuses me but might have something in there. It’s got time-travelling and mystery going on. Just like the kind of feeling Incarnation of Money gives me. Cast: Lee Jin Wook, Jo Yoon Hee, Jeon No Min and Park Hyun Shik.

Ninehey there hottie

(Film) Battle of Yeonpyeong is about a real border attack from North Korea to South that happened in 2002. The film can be promising if done right. For now, the film has Jung Seok Won leading as commander Yoon Young Ha, a real military officer and a hero.

K-Pop News and Songs So Far, Drama/Film News [29th Dec 2012 – 4th Jan 2013]

I’m not sure if this is how the Korean Entertainment world wanted to start out – news of break ups and scandals, but I guess it started 2013 with a bang…?

News

There were many (many because there usually aren’t as many as 3 AKP headliners like WGM had an issue with Oh Yeon Seo’s alleged dating news, Rain and Kim Tae Hee and Army and Block B with their court case against Stardom Entertainment.

More news of Go Young Woo’s sick acts have also been revealed. Link. (Bastard, pinching a minor’s thigh is no normal act. Way to go for phrasing such perverse deeds as nothing much.)

Oh Yeon Seo and WGM:

I don’t really think much of the issue because I have never watched the variety series and so I’m very neutral to the situation at hand. I’m honestly confused by the whole matter too.. lol..

rain, kim taehee and armyNews of Rain’s relationship with Kim Tae Hee and Army:

Objectively speaking, Yes, Rain is wrong. How can it be right to do other things when you had received orders to do something else? And isn’t obedience very important in Army? How old is Rain for his label to call him young? He’s a perfectly grown-up man to know where his priorities and responsibilities are.

Gossip-me speaking, it could be that the country’s beloved actress was taken away by him that..you know..haha. They can’t put all the blame on Rain since the Army actually gave him permission for the number of vacations he had and failed to check until this day.
