Songs I Like and Would Like to Recommend

Co-ed Indie duo Herz Analog intends to cool you down with their laidback music – ‘어서오세요 다락방’ (Good-natured Acoustic Indie sung by the male half), ‘애정결핍’ (Acoustic Indie and Bossa Nova. The whimsical feeling intensified by the female half’s vocals. One of my favs.)                           ,

Songs I Like and Would Like to Recommend 

Ga In returns as a ‘diva’ for her ‘Truth or Dare’ mini album comeback. The title track, ‘Truth or Dare’ is a flirty, playful pop song. (And the percussion-beats really sound like those in Robin Thicke’s ‘Blurred Lines’… ugh.) I don’t think the song was bad, it’s just not the kind of song I will listen to on a daily basis, if you know what I mean. Regardless, I think it’s a fun song that sets her comeback apart from the other sexy concepts, and one I can get behind eventually. I also like that the lyrics is something like Son Dam Bi’s ‘Red Candle’, only more in a peekaboo sort of way. The MV is also a favourite of mine, whether it be the dance version or the faux documentary (which further explained some things that was shown in the teaser).

Hey everybody! It’s been the longest time I have been away. Sorry for the long wait. For this round’s update as promised, I will be doing posts on the songs that were released from 6th dec 2013 to 15th Jan 2014. Hope you like the songs I have gathered for the three posts. 😀

Songs I Like and Would Like to Recommend 

Dabit debuts with a light and playful jazz track, ‘Whoo Whoo Whoo’ and it’s one of those happy songs that can get infectious the more you listen to it. I can’t say the song is amazing, but it’s rather refreshing. 🙂 ‘When The Wind Blows’ is a mellow, jazz ballad that suits his sweet jazzy vocals. It’s a song that gives you a clearer idea of how his vocals sound. Altogether I do enjoy listening to him and it’s always nice to see another singer-songwriter on the scene.

 

Have You Watched Them Yet?: 7th March – 21 May 2013 [updated 4/8/13]

So yes, this is the drama/film version of ‘Have You Listened To Them Yet’, which I have been doing for songs and covers from March-June. I figured that it wasn’t very appropriate to use the original titles, since these aren’t very recent updates.

Note: I haven’t watched the films and shows below so the comments will be my zeroth(because there’s a first?..and before that is zero..so..ehehe :P) impression. More information is a click away:)

Movie Picks

1.High Heels: The film sounds like it’s going all out with the comedy, with Cha Seung Won leading as a cop, Ji Wook, from the ‘Violent Crimes’ department who wants to be female. That’s so extreme O.O I mean, I totally love Cha for his masculine, charismatic image and imagining him as someone who wants to change his gender and do girly stuff (like wear heels for instance, or even shopping) is just mind-blowing. I am very curious as to whether another actress will play after-operation-Cha, or will Cha continue playing the character, just in female-wear and wigs? 

Also, transgender is no small matter in Korea, especially for men. Perhaps the plot will inject some seriousness with regards to how the family takes it…unless the cop doesn’t have a family… I’ve been thinking too about whether Cha Seung Won’s decision to change gender is related to the character’s occupation and the cases he handled and handles. Esom will play the role as a bff(I suppose), Jang Mi, in helping the man with his wish, while Oh Jung Sae acts as Cha Seung Won’s rival, Heo Geon. Casts include Go Kyung Pyo and special appearances by Oh Ji Ho, Ahn Kil Kang and Lee Eon Jeong. 

Another show that’s along the same lines as High Heels is Kim Myung Min‘s Kang Ho’s Childbirth Story. Why do the two guys have to be a ‘Violent Crimes’ cop?! Or why don’t the two films merge!

 

K-Pop News/Songs So Far [1st Feb – V-day 2013]

Sorry for the long wait. I didn’t have time to do an update last week. Also, I will only be able to do an update in another 2 weeks plus time.  Drama/film resumes next update too. So, apologies.

Note: There are some songs I missed out that got released during the two weeks. For instance, Yesung’s OST, D-Unit’s pre-release, etc.

Recommended

1. Voice Korea’s Shin Cho Yi’s debut single is so bad ass and intense. Her voice is so deep and powerful, which had me almost thinking if the song (titled ‘Bad’) featured a male vocalist. Haha. I’m an instant fan! What’s better is that the song suited the film/mv.The starting heavy beats were wonderful. Please take note that this is not the full song. The jacket making(a video that’s on the akp link) ends the song better:) Can’t wait for the full one!!!
